INDIANAPOLIS -- University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee senior Kate Megna has been named Horizon League Women's Soccer Player of the Week for the final week of the 2009 regular season.

Megna, a midfielder from Middleton, Wis., managed one goal and one assist in Milwaukee's 4-1 win over the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay on Monday.

Megna has helped Milwaukee to a 10-5-3 overall mark this season, despite the squad playing seven Big Ten Conference opponents and two Big East Conference foes in non-conference slate action. She was also a key component in UWM's fourth undefeated League season (8-0-0) since 2000.

Megna currently leads all of NCAA Division I with 15 assists on the campaign. She owns Milwaukee's single-season (15) and career (35) assists records.

The top-seeded Panthers will host the semifinals and finals of the 2009 Horizon League Women's Soccer Championship presented by U.S. Army. UWM will square off with the lowest remaining seed after the quarterfinals in a semifinal tilt on Friday, Nov. 6, at 8:30 p.m. ET.
