MILWAUKEE - Head coach Kris Kelderman of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's soccer team will be headed to the 2014 adidas MLS Combine this weekend, as announced by Major League Soccer. The annual player combine will be held from January 10-14 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Kelderman will be one of just four college coaches selected to attend the event.

Kelderman led the Panthers to a 15-3-2 record this past fall as they advanced to the ninth NCAA Tournament in program history. His two-year turnaround of the program has been remarkable - Milwaukee is 23-11-4 since his arrival after going 24-55-15 the prior five seasons combined. He will be part of the coaching staff that will work with the players and assist with individual testing as the players prepare for the MLS draft.

Kelderman served four seasons as an assistant coach in MLS after playing four seasons in Major League Soccer - winning back-to-back championships while playing for D.C. United in 1996 and 1997 - part of a total of nine seasons in pro soccer.

The nation's elite college seniors are invited to compete in the combine, all hoping to do enough to impress the 19 MLS coaching staffs on hand to get selected in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft that takes place January 16 in Philadelphia.

All MLS Combine participants were selected by a committee consisting of NCAA Division I coaches and MLS representatives. They will be joined at the adidas MLS Player Combine by other seniors, including from lower NCAA divisions, underclassmen who sign Generation adidas contracts and other international invitees.
