INDIANAPOLIS -- Valparaiso University senior Lauren Kenney has been named Horizon League Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the period of Nov. 16-22. The selection marks Kenney's first career weekly honor from the League office.

Kenney, a forward from Mooresville, Ind., averaged 20 points, 13.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals in two non-conference victories last week. She nailed 13-of-26 (.500) from the floor and 14-of-19 (.737) from the free-throw stripe.

Kenney tallied 21 points and a career-high 16 rebounds in Valparaiso's 64-55 win over Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville on Thursday. She then recorded 19 points and 11 boards in Valpo's 68-58 victory over Colorado State University on Sunday.

Kenney ranks among the League leaders in rebounds (2nd, 10.7), points (3rd, 17.3), field-goal percentage (6th, .548) and steals (T-6th, 2.3) through three games this season.

Valparaiso is off to its best start in school history at 3-0. The Crusaders are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to non-conference foe Ball State University for a 7 p.m. ET contest.
