INDIANAPOLIS -- Cleveland State senior Kailey Klein has been named Horizon League Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the period of Jan. 4-10. The selection marks Klein's seventh career weekly honor from the League office and her second this season.

Klein, a guard from Cherry, Ill., averaged 24.3 points and 10.3 rebounds in three Horizon League contests last week. She nailed 25-of-53 (.472) from the field, 7-of-20 (.350) from beyond the arc and 16-of-20 (.800) from the free-throw line.

The Vikings improved to 7-8 on the campaign last week with wins over Milwaukee on Monday (73-61) and UIC on Saturday (73-64). CSU also dropped a 66-63 decision at Loyola on Thursday.

Klein, the conference's Preseason Player of the Year, ranks among League leaders in points (1st, 16.3), rebounds (6th, 7.0), blocks (8th, 1.7) and steals (T-10th, 1.6) through 15 games this season.

Klein will become eligible for the Horizon League Network's "People's Choice" award, which is announced each Thursday afternoon. Log on to www.HorizonLeagueNetwork.tv to vote.

Cleveland State returns to action on Thursday when it hosts Butler at 7 p.m. ET.
