GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Former Green Bay basketball standout Lavesa Glover has signed a professional contract with Aanekosken Huima in Huima, Finland. She will head overseas in January and join the team for its final three months of the 2009-10 season.
"I'm very excited to be able to continue my career on the professional level and represent Green Bay abroad," Glover said. "I will be in sub arctic weather in Finland, but Green Bay has prepared me to be able to survive (laughing)."
Glover scored 1,054 points and pulled down 447 rebounds while shooting 51 percent in 122 career games for Green Bay. She was named to the Horizon League's second team in 2008 and first team in 2009.
"I want all the fans to know that it is because of them that I am at this point with their support and love," Glover added. "It makes me proud to be a Phoenix."
Aanekosken Huima is currently ranked fourth in Finland's first division.
