The Horizon League had its first perfect evening of results, going 3-0 as Butler, Cleveland State and Youngstown State all collected wins on Tuesday.

Butler (1-1) raised its 2011 national finalist banner before the game and utilized some lockdown defense over the final 12 minutes of play to knock off Chattanooga, 57-46, at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
The Bulldogs shot just 37 percent in the game, but held the Mocs to just no field goals in the last 13:32 of the game as Butler never trailed from the 14:43 mark of the first half.
In the opening half, it was Chrishawn Hopkins leading the way with 11 or his 12 points, while Andrew Smith picked it up late to lead all scorers with 16 points and 10 rebounds. With Butler clinging to a slim lead, it was the duo of Ronald Nored and Chase Stigall who helped seal the result, with Nored feeding the New Castle, Ind.-native for five straight points, helping the Bulldogs seal the result.

It took Cleveland State (2-0) a little bit to shake off the cobwebs froms Sunday’s win over Vanderbilt, but once the Vikings got going, there was little visiting Rio Grande could do as CSU collected an 86-57 victory in its home opener.
D’Aundray Brown stuffed the stat sheet, leading the way with 24 points, nine rebounds and seven steals. Follow seniors Trevon Harmon and Jeremy Montgomery added 14 and six, respectively, with Montgomery breaking the 1,000-point mark in his career.
Tim Kamczyc and Anton Grady finished in double figures with 13 and 12 points apiece.
Youngstown State 80, Notre Dame (Ohio) 62
Youngstown State (2-0) used 14 three-pointers to roll to an 80-62 win over Notre Dame (Ohio) in its home opener. The 14 triples matched the Penguins’ school record.
Kendrick Perry and Ashen Ward led the aerial assault, going a combined 8-for-12 from three-point range. Perry led the Penguins in scoring for the second straight game with 18 points, while Ward was right behind with 17.
Staked to a 51-31 lead at the break, courtesy of 12 threes, Youngstown State was able to play its entire bench, with 14 players seeing action. Blake Allen and Damian Eargle joined Perry and Ward in double figures, finishing with 14 and 12, respectively.
