CHICAGO -- On September 27, the Loyola University Chicago softball team took time out from its fall season to help raise money and awareness for breast cancer research by taking part in the Susan G. Komen Run For the Cure in Chicago.
The Ramblers ran as a team in the event for the fifth straight year and raised more than $1,000 once again.
"Participating in the Susan G. Komen 5K Run For the Cure is a great way for our Rambler softball family to work together raising funding and awareness for breast cancer research," Loyola head coach Yvette Healy said. "Community service is a key element in the Loyola student-athlete experience, fostering leadership and building teamwork by helping those in need."
