Chicago, Ill. - With the softball season already in full swing, the Loyola University Chicago women's softball team took some time from their busy schedule and spent St. Patrick's Day volunteering and raising money for children on the south side of Chicago on March 13.

As a part of the South Side St. Patrick's Day Parade, Head Coach Yvette Healy and her Rambler softball squad raised nearly $2,000 for abused and abandoned children with the Mercy Home for Boys & Girls.

The Mercy Home for Boys & Girls provides the highest quality of care to hurting, neglected and troubled children. They have a 118-year history of giving kids not only food and shelter, but the love of a family and hope for the future.
