DaJuan Gouard (pro-nounced joo-ARD) of Loyola has been named the Horizon League Player of the Week for Feb. 14.
Gouard, a senior guard, averaged 20.5 points, five assists and four rebounds per game for the Ramblers while shooting 50 percent (13-of-26) from the field and 73 percent (11-of-15) from the free-throw line.
In Loyola's 74-67 near-upset of League-leading UW-Milwaukee Feb. 10, he scored 22 points and added six rebounds and five assists. Gouard then came back with 19 points, five assists and two rebounds in the Ramblers' 80-64 victory over second-place UW-Green Bay Feb. 12.For the season, Gouard is averaging 14.4 points, 3.3 assists and 1.5 steals per game.

Cedrick Banks
UIC, Senior, Guard, Chicago, Ill.
Banks averaged 18 points, seven rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game in a perfect 2-0 week for the Flames. The highlight of his week was a 23-point, 10-rebound performance in a 73-66 win at Cleveland State Feb. 12. It was the 6-foot-2 guard's second double-double of the season. Earlier in the week, he had 13 points and 4 rebounds in UIC's 71-65 victory over Youngstown State.
Brandon Cotton
Detroit, Sophomore, Guard, Detroit, Mich.
Cotton averaged 21 points as the Titans went 1-1 last week, hitting the 20-point mark in both games. He poured in an even 20 points and added four assists in UDM's 71-49 win over Wright State Feb. 10 and then had a game-high 22 points at Butler Feb. 12. For the week, he shot 58 percent (15-of-26) from the field, including 50 percent (3-of-6) from three-point range.
Boo Davis
UW-Milwaukee, Junior, Guard, Chicago, Ill.>
Davis averaged 11.5 points and five rebounds per game in helping the Panthers to a pair of wins and a share of the regular-season title. He had six points and seven rebounds in a 74-67 win over Loyola Feb. 10 just 30 hours after emergency dental surgery. Then, in UWM's 90-67 victory over Youngstown State Feb. 12, he supplied 17 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Benito Flores
UW-Green Bay, Junior, Forward, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic
Flores scored a season-tying 21 points and added seven rebounds in the Phoenix's lone game of the week, an 80-64 loss at Loyola Feb. 12. He shot 73 percent (8-of-11) from the field and hit 5-of-6 free-throw attempts. Flores has scored in double figures in 12 straight games and 19 of 23 this season.
Quin Humphrey
Youngstown State, Sophomore, Guard, Ellenwood, Ga.
Humphrey averaged 17 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in an 0-2 week for the Penguins. He scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds in a 75-65 loss at UIC Feb. 10 when he was 7-of-14 from the floor. In a 90-67 loss at UW-Milwaukee Feb. 12, he had 16 points and eight rebounds.
Brandon Polk
Butler, Junior, Forward, Wichita, Kan.
Polk averaged 15.7 points and 3.3 rebounds per game while shooting 59 percent (20-of-34) from the field as the Bulldogs went 1-2 last week. He scored a team-high 22 points in a 61-55 loss at Wright State Feb. 7 and then led Butler with 13 points in a 61-56 loss to Cleveland State Feb. 10. Polk had 12 points, three rebounds, two assists and one block in the Bulldogs' 65-50 victory over Detroit Feb. 12.
Patrick Tatham
Cleveland State, Sophomore, Forward, Brampton, Ontario
Tatham celebrated his first starting since being sidelined in early January with an ankle injury by scoring a career-high 20 points in a 65-56 win at Butler Feb. 10. He was 9-of-14 from the floor and added five rebounds in the victory. Tatham then had six points and 10 rebounds in the Vikings' 73-66 loss to UIC Feb. 12. For the week, he averaged 13 points and 7.5 rebounds per game.
Zach Williams
Wright State, Senior, Forward, New York, N.Y.
Williams scored 21 points on 9-of-12 shooting and added four rebounds in the Raiders' 61-55 victory over Butler Feb. 7. He had five points and two rebounds in Wright State's 71-49 loss at Detroit Feb. 10. Williams averaged 13 points and three rebounds per game for the week.
