INDIANAPOLIS -- Loyola’s Jade Kinney (Lebanon, Ohio) and UIC’s Kellie Schuh (Crystal Lake, Ill.) have been named the Horizon League Women’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week for the week of April 23 - 29.
Kinney competed at the Benedictine Twilight in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. She won both events with times of 12.66 and 25.22, respectively. The freshman moved into 10th on LU’s all-time list in the 100m while landing in 7th place on the 200m list.
Schuh collected a pair of first place finishes in the pole vault and triple jump at the Marquette Invitational. In the pole vault, the senior broke her own school record, jumping a height of 3.97m. She now leads the Horizon League competition by over a foot. In the triple jump, she jumped 11.34m and sits at third place in the League in the event.
Loyola and UIC will be back in action this weekend at the Horizon League Championships in Wauwatosa, Wis. Action starts on Friday morning (May 4) at 9 a.m.
