Blake Schilb of Loyola has been named the Horizon League Player of the Week for Feb. 21.


Schilb, a sophomore forward, averaged 20.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game as the Ramblers (10-16, 7-8) extended their winning streak to three games.


He had 16 points, six rebounds and six assists in Loyola's 91-85 victory at UIC Feb. 18. The win ended a seven-game losing streak to the crosstown Flames and a 13-game skid at the UIC Pavilion dating to 1988. In a 68-64 non-League win at Evansville Feb. 19, he scored 25 points -- 21 in the second half -- and added six rebounds and five assists.


For the season, Schilb is averaging 16.8 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.

Cedrick Banks
UIC, Senior, Guard, Chicago, Ill.


Banks averaged 23 points and five rebounds per game as UIC went 1-2 during the week. He had 20 points and seven rebounds in a 78-66 loss to UW-Green Bay Feb. 14 and 25 points and four rebounds in the Flames' 91-85 loss to Loyola Feb. 17. Banks, who hit 10 three-pointers in the three games, capped the week with 24 points and four rebounds in a non-League victory over Georgia Southern Feb. 19.

Drew Burleson
Wright State, Sophomore, Forward, Wheelersburg, Ohio


Burleson averaged 20 points and 3.5 rebounds per game as the Raiders won both of their games last week. He netted a career-high 21 points in the Raiders' 71-64 victory at Youngstown State Feb. 16 and then had 19 in a 72-66 overtime win over Northern Illinois Feb. 19. For the week, Burleson shot 60 percent from the floor (15-of-25) and had just two turnovers in 70 minutes played.

Brandon Cotton
Detroit, Sophomore, Guard, Detroit, Mich.


In two games last week, Cotton averaged 21 points per game for the Titans who went 1-1. He had a game-high 17 points in a 67-52 win over Cleveland State Feb. 16 and then paced all scorers again with 25 in a heartbreaking 66-65 loss to Ohio Feb. 19. Cotton shot a solid .500 from the field (14-of-28) and 92 percent (11-of-12) from the free-throw line for the week.

Javier Mendiburu
UW-Green Bay, Senior, UW-Green Bay, Badalona, Spain


Mendiburu averaged 15.5 points, eight assists and 2.5 steals per game in a 1-1 week for UW-Green Bay. He led the Phoenix to a 78-66 win at UIC Feb. 14 with 12 points, 13 assists and seven rebounds and followed that up with 19 points in a 79-69 loss to Illinois State Feb. 19 in the Bracket Buster event. For the week, he shot 61 percent (11-of-18) from the floor.

Brandon Polk
Butler, Junior, Forward, Wichita, Kan.


Polk averaged 16 points and nine rebounds in a 1-1 week for Butler. In a 64-53 loss at UW-Milwaukee Feb. 16, he recorded his second double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Polk then led the Bulldogs to a 72-69 victory over Valparaiso Feb. 19 with 19 points and eight rebounds. He shot 48 percent (11-of-23) for the week.

Brian Radakovich
Youngstown State, Senior, Forward, Steubenville, Ohio


Radakovich averaged 17 points and 4.5 rebounds last week as Youngstown State went 1-1. He scored a career-high 23 points in the Penguins' 71-64 loss to Wright State Feb. 16 and then had 10 points and six rebounds in their 74-60 win over Eastern Michigan Feb. 19. For the week, Radakovich shot 63 percent (12-of-19) from the field, including 75 percent (3-of-4) from three-point range, and 88 percent (7-of-8) from the free-throw line.

Joah Tucker
UW-Milwaukee, Junior, Forward, Milwaukee, Wis.


Tucker averaged a double-double of 14 points and 10.5 rebounds per game as UW-Milwaukee won both of its games. He tallied 21 points and a career-best 14 rebounds in a 64-53 win over Butler Feb. 16 to clinch the regular-season title. In the Panthers' 87-81 win at Hawai'i Feb. 19 in the Bracket Buster, he had seven points and seven rebounds while helping hold the Warriors' top scorer to half his season average.
