Loyola's Stein and Valgoi Named Cross Country Athletes of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS –Loyola’s Josh Stein and Gina Valgoi have been named Horizon League Cross Country Athletes of the Week for the period of Sept. 20-26.

Stein, a junior from Aurora, Ill., competed in the Roy Griak Invitational on Saturday, finishing the 8K in a time of 25:13. He took 37th out of 213 runners, while the Ramblers finished 19th out of the 22 teams at the meet.

Valgoi, a native of Detroit, Mich., also competed at the Roy Griak Invite on Saturday, finishing as Loyola’s top runner for the third straight meet. She took 138th place out of 300 runners and finished the 6K in a time of 23:38.

Loyola returns to action on Saturday, competing at the Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational.
