Maddy Soule Named Milwaukee Head Women's Tennis Coach

MILWAUKEE - Maddy Soule has been named the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee women's tennis coach, Director of Athletics Amanda Braun announced today.

Soule has been with the team for the past four years in a variety of roles. Last year, she served as the team's assistant coach and helped the Panthers achieve unprecedented heights. Milwaukee finished the season as the co-regular season league champions, a first in program history. The team also tallied 13 wins against Division I opponents, an eight-game winning streak and its first-ever win over conference powerhouse UIC - all firsts for the program.

"I am extremely grateful to be granted the opportunity to be part of the Milwaukee women's tennis program," Soule said. "I have been a part of and witnessed the rise and success of this program throughout the years and couldn't be happier or more proud of the team. As a past player, the program holds a special place in my heart. I will work hard to further the success of this program, while ensuring my players have a wonderful experience as student athletes."

Before serving as an assistant last season, Soule was a standout player for Milwaukee. In just three years at UWM, she graduated as the all-time leader in both singles (71), doubles (69) and total (140) victories. She earned First-Team All-Horizon League honors all three years, including the league's newcomer of the year award her first season on campus.

"We're very excited to announce Maddy as our new tennis coach," Braun said. "She has tremendous energy and passion for the sport and for Milwaukee, which has been evident since the day I met her. She is a great leader and I am confident she will continue to take the program to new heights."
