INDIANAPOLIS - UIC junior Steve McGuiggan and Youngstown State senior Aaron Swenson have been named Horizon League Baseball Players of the Week for the period of March 22-28. McGuiggan registers his second career weekly honor from the League office, while Swenson records his third.

McGuiggan picks up Batter of the Week accolades after going 10-for-22 (.455) with one homer, two doubles, three RBI and 10 runs in five games last week. He also registered a .682 slugging percentage and .520 on-base percentage for the Flames.

The outfielder, a native of Burnsville, Minn., tallied a hit and run in all five contests. His strongest performance -- 3-for-5 with three runs and three RBI -- came in Saturday's 10-4 win over Milwaukee.

Swenson notches Pitcher of the Week honors after allowing just one run and four hits over seven innings on Friday at Butler. He also struck out 10 Bulldogs in YSU's 12-2 victory.

The right-hander, a native of Twinsburg, Ohio, improved to a League-best 4-0 with Friday's win. He also leads the conference with 39 punchouts in 35.1 innings this season.

Both UIC (5-14, 2-1) and Youngstown State (10-9, 2-1) return to the diamond on Tuesday. The Flames host Northwestern at 8:05 p.m. ET, while the Penguins visit Duquesne at 3 p.m.
