McPherson and Parrish named Track and Field Athletes of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS -- Wright State freshman Maggie McPherson and junior Heather Parrish have been named Horizon League Track and Field Athletes of the Week for the period of Jan. 4-10.

McPherson, a native of Pandora, Ohio, receives the women's running honor after placing third out of nine competitors in the 600-meter run (1:42.41) and anchoring a second place finish for the 4x400 relay team on Friday at the Buckeye Classic in Columbus, Ohio. The 600 clocking broke the school record by .19 seconds.

Parrish, a native of Burlington, N.C., picks up the women's field award after placing second out of nine competitors in the triple jump (11.03 meters) and sixth out of 15 individuals in the long jump (5.28 meters) on Friday, breaking the school record in both events.

The Raiders are back in action on Jan. 15 at the Cedarville Invitational in Cedarville, Ohio.
