Men's Tennis Player of the Week
Evan West, Butler, Sophomore, Greenwood, Ind.
West went 2-0 last week, highlighting the Butler effort with a straight-set win against Wisconsin at No. 4 singles. West downed the Badgers' Elliott Bisnow, 7-6 (4), 6-3 to claim the Bulldogs' only win against the Big Ten squad. West then rolled over Eric Hines, 6-2, 6-4, Sunday, helping the Bulldogs to a 7-0 win over UW-Green Bay in the team's Horizon League opener.

Women's Tennis Player of the Week
Iris Jaklin, UIC, Junior, Fischbach, Austria
Jaklin helped UIC overtake a tough Illinois State squad with a doubles win and a No. 1 singles comeback victory this past Saturday. Jaklin teamed with Melanie Humphrey at the top doubles spot to down Ashley Maxwell and Veronique Parke-Bedard in an 8-4 decision, and then went on to defeat Elizabeth Bingier at No. 1 singles after dropping the first set in a stellar 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 win to key a 4-3 non-conference victory over the Redbirds.

Other Top Men's Performers
Mat Weiss, UW-Green Bay, Sophomore, St. Louis, Mo.
Weiss was 3-0 last week with a pair of doubles wins and a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles over UW-Oshkosh's Brandon Lepp. Weiss teamed with Mark Goldin to post an 8-6 win over Butler's No. 3 tandem and an 8-2 win over UWO's No. 2 team.

Lance Koetter, Wright State, Freshman, Cincinnati Ohio
Koetter went 3-2 on the weekend with close loses in the Morehead State defeat on Friday. He picked it up by going 3-0 on Saturday with two singles wins and a doubles win in matches with IPFW and Northern Kentucky. The team also went 2-1 as the Raiders improved to 8-5.

Other Top Women's Performers
Shaden Dowiatt, Butler, Sophomore, Cincinnati, Ohio
Dowiatt went 2-1 in singles play last weekend, playing at both the No. 3 and 4 spots for Butler. Dowiatt also teamed with junior Tayo Bailey to win a pair of doubles matches at the No. 2 seed. Dowiatt scored a straight-set win over IPFW, a three-set victory against Indiana State and suffered a three-set loss in the team's loss against Miami (Ohio).

Holly Smith, Detroit, Freshman, Troy, Mich.
Smith had a perfect weekend in singles play as the Titans split a pair of matches. Playing in the No. 2 flight, she defeated UWGB's Jen Tan, 6-1, 6-3 to help lead Detroit to its first Horizon League victory of the young season. Smith came back on Sunday to defeat Dayton's Courtney McDowell, 6-3, 7-5 - Detroit's lone singles win of the match. Smith also paired with Bianca Savarino for an 8-5 win in No. 2 doubles, helping UDM to the doubles point in the match.

Heather Harding, UW-Green Bay, Sophomore, Brookfield, Wis.
Harding was 4-0 on the weekend with a pair of wins at No. 1 doubles with teammate Jennifer Tan and two straight set wins at the No. 1 singles spot for the Phoenix.

Tiffani Foster, Wright State, Sophomore, Huber Heights, Ohio
Foster went 2-0 on Saturday versus IPFW in a 4-0 win. She won her singles match 6-1, 6-0 over Hanna Hager and her doubles match paired with Jessica Lee over Jessica Vervynckt and Beth Miller,8-1.
