For the third straight season, the championship game of the Speedway Horizon League Men's Basketball Championship will be played at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. The game will be played Tuesday at 9 p.m. ET and be televised live on ESPN.
Regular-season champion and top-seed Butler is in the title game for the fourth straight season after defeating fourth-seed Milwaukee 68-59 in the semifinals on Saturday. Matt Howard scored 18 points and Ronald Nored added 13 points and eight rebounds to lead the Bulldogs to their 19th consecutive win.
Second-seed Wright State reached the championship game with a 69-50 semifinal victory over seventh-seed Detroit. Ronnie Thomas had 18 points and four of WSU's 12 three-pointers. The Raiders used runs of 9-0 and 16-0 en route to a 39-18 halftime lead. Wright State is in the championship game for the first time since winning its only League title in 2007, when the Raiders defeated Butler, 60-55, in Dayton, Ohio.
With Wright State's semifinal win on Saturday, the Horizon League boasts five 20-win teams for the first time in its 31-year history. The League is one of only seven conferences in the country with five 20-win teams and is the only one with fewer than 12 members.
