League-champion Butler (30-4) advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament for the third time in the last eight seasons with victories over UTEP (77-59) and Murray State (54-52) this past week. The fifth-seed Bulldogs will play top-seed Syracuse (30-4) in the West Region semifinals this Thursday at Energy Solutions Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah. Game time is 7:07 p.m. ET on CBS. The winner will face either Kansas State or Xavier Saturday in the regional final, with the victor advancing to the NCAA Final Four in Butler's hometown of Indianapolis.

Green Bay (22-12) is in the quarterfinals of the College Basketball Invitational and will play at Saint Louis on Monday. The game will tip at 9 p.m. ET and be televised on HDNet. The winner will advance to Thursday's semifinals against the winner of Virginia Commonwealth-College of Charleston.

With Butler's two wins last week, there is a Horizon League team in the NCAA Sweet 16 for the fourth time in the past eight seaons (Butler 2003, `07, `10 and Milwaukee `05). League teams have won at least one game in the NCAAs each of the last six seasons and nine times in the past 12 years. All told, League squads own 11 NCAA Tournament wins in the eight years.
