UW-Milwaukee 64, Butler 59
Milwaukee, Wis. - Joah Tucker scored 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as host UW-Milwaukee claimed a 64-59 win over Butler at the U.S. Cellular Arena.

The Panthers (11-3, 4-0 Horizon League) led by as many as 11 points early in the second half but then had pull out a nip-and-tuck affair down the stretch. Boo Davis added 15 points and Chris Hill 10 for Milwaukee, which was playing its third game in five days against a Butler team that hadn't played since Monday afternoon. Bruce Horan led the Bulldogs (8-6, 1-1) with 20 points.

The Panthers used a 14-5 run early in the second half to build a 37-26 lead with 15:24 remaining in the game. But Butler responded quickly, scoring 12-straight points to claim a 38-37 advantage with 11:37 left.

Milwaukee recovered to reclaim a 47-43 lead on two free throws by Hill with 7:17 remaining and then hung on down the stretch to claim their eighth-straight win and 10th win in their last 11 tries.

It was the Panthers' defense that ruled the first 20 minutes of the game. UWM limited Butler to just 25.9 percent shooting from the field overall, but the Bulldogs stayed in the game by making four three-point baskets. In the second half, the Bulldogs started to find their stride and took advantage of a Panther team that was playing for the fifth time in 12 days. Yet, Milwaukee was able to hit 16-of-20 free throws in the second half to grab the win.

Detroit 68, Youngstown State 63
Detroit, Mich. - After trailing by as many as 15 points in the first half, host Detroit used a career-high 28 points from Jon Goode to come from behind and post its seventh straight home victory with a 68-63 win over Youngstown State at Calihan Hall. The Titans improve to 9-8 overall and 3-1 in the league while the Penguins fell to 5-9 overall and 2-2 in conference action.

It looked as if the Titans were in for their first home loss of the season as YSU extended its lead to 14 on a Keston Roberts triple with 17:38 to go, but that was a spark for the Titans who began to climb back into the game behind Goode and Chuck Bailey. Bailey scored a lay in with 15:38 left, to cut the lead to 10 and was followed up by a Goode jumper to make it 43-33 YSU. A lay-up by Jonathan Kelly with 14:17 to go cut the deficit to eight at 43-35.

The two squads traded baskets before Kelly dropped in a jumper with 11:46 left to cut the Penguin lead to just seven. A Goode triple and lay in cut the lead to just a bucket with 9:04 left and set the stage for a dramatic final nine minutes.

Quin Humphrey nailed a three to put the Penguins back up five, but a Torvoris Baker jumper made it a three point game with 7:53 left and Zach Everingham's lay up with 7:17 made it a one-point game. Bailey they caught an alley-oop from Goode for a thundering dunk that ignited the Calihan Hall crowd and gave Detroit its first lead of the game at 52-51 with just over six minutes left.

YSU tied the game at 60-all on five points from Humphrey via a triple and a pair of free throws with 1:02 to go. Goode then came down the floor on the next Titan possesion and knocked down a curl jumper off of a pass from Kelly to give Detroit the lead back at 62-60 with 40 ticks left. Goode followed that up by sinking five straight free throws to ice the game away for Detroit with a 68-63 final.

Goode's 28 led both teams in scoring with Bailey chipping in 15 points and eight boards and Baker adding 10 tallies and eight rebounds of his own. Humphrey led YSU with 18.

Wright State 77, Loyola 63
Dayton, Ohio - DaShaun Wood tallied 22 points to lead host Wright State to a 77-63 victory over Loyola at the Nutter Center.

Drew Burleson scored 16 points and Scottie Wilson added 10 points for Wright State (6-6), which cruised to the best start in conference play in the program's history at 3-0. J.R. Blount posted 20 points in defeat for Loyola (9-5, 1-3). Blake Schilb pitched in 15 points for the Ramblers, while Majak Kou contributed 11 points.

Wright State scored the first seven points of the game and led 28-24 at intermission. The Raiders scored 12 unanswered points during one span in the second half, and they cruised to the 14-point triumph.

Tom Levin's lay-up to start the second half brought the Ramblers within in a basket, but Jordan Pleiman ignited the 12-0 run by scoring seven consecutive points as the Raiders seized a commanding 40-26 advantage. Loyola would get no closer than nine points the rest of the way.

Wood also added seven rebounds and four steals, while four other Raiders reached double figures. Scottie Wilson chipped in ten. The Raiders got a season-high 15 from Pleiman and Walter Chancellor had a career high eight in the win.
