Blackman ran the fastest 3,000-meter steeplechase time in the Horizon League this spring, the second-fastest steeplechase time of his career and the third-fastest steeplechase time in Butler track and field history at the Cardinal Invitational hosted by Stanford University. Blackman finished the race in 8:48.03, which was two seconds shy of his personal best of 8:46.05, recorded last year. He was six seconds shy of the Butler record of 8:42.5, set by Mark Tucker in 2002.

Eric Wheeler, UW-Milwaukee, Freshman, Monroe, Wis.
Eric Wheeler took advantage of the competition during the WIU Tune Up Meet on May 1.
