INDIANAPOLIS – Milwaukee senior midfielder Robbie Boyd (Mequon, Wis.) is the Horizon League Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Oakland’s senior goalkeeper Sean Lewis (Rockford, Mich.) has earned Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 9 – Sept. 15.

Milwaukee (4-0-1) started off the weekend with a thrilling overtime victory against DePaul University, scoring the game-winner with only 36 seconds remaining. The Panthers continued their unbeaten streak against IUPUI, netting three goals past the Jaguars.

Boyd gave Milwaukee’s offense a boost in his performances over the weekend, scoring in each of the two games and providing an assist against IUPUI. Boyd’s first goal of the season came from a tremendous individual effort, giving the Panthers the lead in the first half against DePaul. He continued to be an early-game spark for Milwaukee’s offense as he scored the first and eventual game-winner against the Jaguars.

Oakland (1-2-2) earned its first victory of the year with a game-winning goal in the 87th minute against Marshall and remained unbeaten for the weekend with a double-overtime draw against Saint Francis.

Lewis recorded his first win of the season against Marshall with two saves throughout the game. His success carried over against Saint Francis as he posted his first career shutout with a season-high five saves. Two of the saves for Lewis came in key overtime minutes to help the Grizzlies hold on for the tie.

UWM is back to Engelmann Stadium Thursday, Sept. 19 as the Panthers host Western Illinois at 7 p.m. CT under the lights. Oakland takes on IUPUI at OU Soccer Field on Wednesday, Sept. 18 starting at 7 p.m. CT.
