EUGENE, Ore. - Durell Busby of Milwaukee posted a seventh-place finish in the finals of the 110-meter hurdles at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the University of Oregon's Hayfield Stadium Saturday afternoon.
Running in lane one, Busby crossed the finish line with a time of 13.70 seconds to earn First Team All-American honors.
The senior qualified for the finals by running the eighth-best heat time (13.75) out of 24 runners on Thursday.
Freshman Devon Allen of Oregon, who also participates on the Ducks' football team, won the race with an NCAA meet record time of 13.16. The previous record was 13.21, set by Aries Merritt of Tennessee in 2006.
In 2012, Busby earned Second-Team All-American honors in the event finishing 12th with a time of 13.77.
Busby caps his career as a two-time Horizon League Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year and a two-time All-American. Earlier this year, Busby broke the league record at the Horizon League Outdoor Track & Field Championships in both the 110mH (13.88) and the javelin (62.12m).
Milwaukee finished with two points, the first time it has scored at the national meet since moving to Division I, to finish in a tie for 64th.
