INDIANAPOLIS -- Milwaukee junior forward Krissy Dorre (Joliet, Ill.) is the Horizon League Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, while Wright State senior goalkeeper Brooke McCurdy (Peterborough, Ontario) has been named Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 23-29.

Dorre had a hand in all three of Milwaukee’s goals in the Panthers’ 3-2 win over Valparaiso on Saturday. After the Crusaders took a 1-0 lead, Dorre assisted on the goal that brought the Panthers even, centering the ball into the top of the box where Kelsey Holbert was able to fire it into the back of the net. Dorre then put the Panthers ahead just before the half, taking a long pass from Callie O'Donnell and one-timing it far post past Valpo's Kristen Manski.

Dorre struck again midway through the second half. UWM teammate Maria Stephans dribbled up the field and found Dorre open just outside the box. The junior turned with the ball, took a touch and blasted the ball past the diving keeper for what proved to be the game-winner.

Milwaukee is back in action on Saturday when it hosts Horizon League preseason favorite Detroit.

McCurdy was named Defensive Player of the Week after earning her third shutout of the season and 18th of her career in Wright State’s 1-0 win over Youngstown State on Saturday. The senior goalkeeper saved five shots in the win over the Penguins, becoming WSU’s all-time leader in saves during the contest. McCurdy now has 345 career saves for her career, which ranks ninth in the Horizon League Record Book for career saves.

Wright State returns to the pitch on Saturday when it hosts Oakland at Alumni Field.
