Edwards Bio

INDIANAPOLIS - University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee senior center Traci Edwards has been named Horizon League Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the period of Dec. 8-14. It is Edwards' 10th career weekly honor from the Horizon League office.

Edwards, a native of Menasha, Wis., scored 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in Milwaukee's 63-61 loss to Illinois Wednesday night. She shot 10-for-18 from the floor and spearheaded UWM's rally, as the Panthers came from 20 points down to tie the Fighting Illini late in the contest.

Wednesday's game was the only outing for the Panthers last week.

Edwards is currently tied for the Horizon League lead with 19.3 points per game. She ranks third in the League in shooting (.545), fourth in rebounding (7.8) and ninth in free throw percentage (.804).

The 6-foot-2 senior recently became the school's all-time leading scorer, pushing her career total to 1,908 points. She ranks fourth in Horizon League history and is likely to become just the second player in League history to surpass 2,000 career points.

Edwards and Milwaukee play once this week, hosting Central Michigan Saturday at 3 p.m. ET.
