INDIANAPOLIS -- Milwaukee senior forward Sarah Hagen (Appleton, Wis.) and Green Bay senior goalkeeper Maddie Drusch (Appleton, Wis.) have been named Horizon League Women’s Soccer Co-Players of the Week, for the week of Sept. 19-25.  For Hagen, the accolade is the 13th of her career, while Drusch is collecting the award for the first time.

Hagen totaled six points on the weekend as No. 15 Milwaukee (10-1-0, 2-0-0 Horizon) downed Western Illinois, 4-0, before knocking off regionally ranked Detroit, 2-1, on Sunday. Drusch led Green Bay (3-7-2, 1-1-0 Horizon) to a key 2-1 victory over visiting Cleveland State on Sunday.

Hagen netted the game-winning goal in both Panther wins, converting a penalty kick in the 54th minute to put Milwaukee up 1-0 on the visiting Leathernecks. The senior added an assist four minutes later, spurring a four-goal outburst in the second half.

On Sunday, Hagen broke a 1-1 deadlock in the 67th minute by corralling and converting a rebound in the box. Hagen had helped Milwaukee to a 1-0 advantage with an assist in the 10th minute. The game-winning goal was the fourth straight for Hagen, who leads the Horizon League with 13 goals and 30 points in just 11 matches this season.

In Green Bay’s lone match of the weekend, Drusch became the Phoenix’s all-time saves leader, making five in a 2-1 victory. With 355 career stops, Drusch passed Laura Sandt, who starred for Green Bay from 1994-97. The lone goal surrendered by Drusch came on a penalty kick.

Milwaukee will be back in action on Saturday, when the Panthers travel to Dayton, Ohio, for a League match with Wright State. The contest will be carried live on the Horizon League Network beginning at 5 p.m. ET from Alumni Field. Green Bay will head to Detroit on Saturday, with the match between the Phoenix and Titans starting at 2 p.m. ET.

Top Performers for the Week:

  • Elise Kotsakis, Butler (Fr., F) - With her third game-winning goal of the year, Kotsakis pushed Butler past Wright State, 1-0, on Saturday. The 39th-minute tally moved Kotsakis into the team lead with eight points in her freshman season.
