INDIANAPOLIS –Milwaukee senior forward Lindsay Laur has been named Horizon League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 21.Laur helped Milwaukee pick up two wins last week over Valparaiso and second-place Butler, giving the Panthers an 8-8 Horizon League record, good for sixth in the standings.
A native of Roseville, Minn., Laur had 20 points and nine rebounds en route to a 73-66 victory over the Bulldogs on Thursday.
She then scored 13 points, including the game-winning shot with 4.9 seconds remaining, to send the Panthers past Valpo, 70-69 on Saturday.
Laur made all 12 free throw attempts on the weekend and is currently leading the league and ranked third in the nation in free throw percentage, shooting 92.6 from the charity stripe.
The senior also totaled 18 rebounds, seven assists and two steals on the week.
Milwaukee will finish its final weekend of the regular season on the road beginning with a 7pm ET trip to Detroit on Thursday. The Panthers will then travel to Wright State on Saturday for a 2pm contest.
