Milwaukee's Schuh, Green Bay's Leitermann earn player of the week

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – Milwaukee junior Kerri Schuh has been named Horizon League Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, while Green Bay sophomore Carmen Leitermann has earned Defensive Player of the Week honors for the period of Oct. 25-31.

Schuh, a right side hitter from Appleton, Wis., tallied 44 kills (4.40 kills per set) at a .447 hitting clip, leading the Panthers to three victories last week en route to her second consecutive offensive award.  She had 16 kills in a sweep of DePaul on Tuesday, 11 in a three-set win at Loyola on Friday and 17 in a 3-1 victory at Valparaiso on Saturday.  Schuh led a strong defensive effort as well with 32 digs (3.20 dps) and 11 blocks (1.10 dps).  She also tallied seven assists and one ace on the week.

Leitermann, a middle hitter from Schofield, Wis., registered 13 blocks in just two matches last week.  She tallied a career-high nine blocks, including three block solos, at Valparaiso on Friday and added four more in a three set-win at Loyola on Saturday.  Leitermann also recorded 16 kills, five digs and two aces over the weekend.

Milwaukee and Green Bay resume conference play Friday as the Panthers travel to Wright State and The Phoenix journey to Butler for 7pm ET matches.
