INDIANAPOLIS –Milwaukee sophomore guard Sami Tucker has been named Horizon League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Jan 31.
Tucker helped Milwaukee move up to fourth in the conference standings with two wins last week.
The East Lansing, Mich., native scored a career-high 23 points and pulled down nine rebounds over Youngstown State, narrowly missing a double-double, before posting her second double-double of the season with 18 points and 12 boards against Cleveland State.
Tucker shot 65.2 percent from the field and 66.7 percent from three-point range on the week. She hit 9-for-11 from the field and was a perfect 4-for-4 from behind the arc against the Penguins.
The sophomore also hit 5-of-7 free throw attempts and had two assists and two steals on the week.
Milwaukee heads to the Windy City to take on Loyola on Thursday at 5:45pm ET. The Panthers then head to UIC for a 6:30pm contest on Saturday.
