INDIANAPOLIS -- Wright State guard Tay’ler Mingo (Akron, Ohio) has been named the Horizon League Women’s Basketball Player of the Week and Detroit forward Megan Galloway (Greenville, Ohio) has been named Freshman of the Week.

Mingo, who previously was named Player of the Week on Dec. 16, led the Raiders to a 103-91 win over UIC to keep Wright State in contention for the conference regular season title. The junior guard scored 25 points and led the team with nine assists against just one turnover in 40 minutes. She also grabbed a season-high six rebounds and tied her season-high with five steals in the contest.

Mingo scored 20 of her points and had five assists and four steals in the second half against the Flames as the Raiders scored 59 points in the final 20 minutes.

The 103 points are the most scored by the Raiders in a game since the program moved up to Division I, a span of 27 seasons (1987-88).

Wright State (18-7, 7-3) returns to action on Tuesday with a trip to Oakland to face the Golden Grizzlies (11-13, 6-5).
Galloway earned her second Freshman of the Week nod after two strong performances for the Titans in the post last week. She opened the week with a career-high 21 points in Detroit’s game at Oakland. She also grabbed 10 rebounds in the contest to record her second career double-double. On Saturday at Cleveland State, the freshman forward battled through foul trouble that limited her to just 18 minutes, but still managed to score 13 points and pull down seven rebounds.

For the week, Galloway averaged 17.0 points per game on 55.2 percent shooting and averaged 7.5 rebounds per game.

Detroit is back in action on Saturday as it hosts Wright State at Calihan Hall.
