Butler senior Rob Mullett and Youngstown State senior Lauren Blase have been named Horizon League Track Athletes of the Week for the period of Dec. 7-13.

Mullett, a native of Brighton, U.K., receives the honor after winning the mile (4:09.78) and taking second in the 800-meter (1:54.33) on Friday at the EIU Early Bird in Charleston, Ill. Mullett posted one of only two individual wins for the Bulldog men who finished fifth with 52 points.

Blase, a native of Boardman, Ohio, picks up the award after placing second out of 15 competitors in the 3000-meter run (9:58.63) on Friday at the Golden Flash Gala in Kent, Ohio. Blase's time broke an 18 year school record by over 10 seconds.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Jan. 15 at the Notre Dame Opener in South Bend, Ind., while the Penguins return to the track on Jan. 16 at the Doug Raymond Invitational in Kent, Ohio.
