Mullett and Heckert named Cross Country Athletes of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS -- Butler University senior Rob Mullett and University of Illinois at Chicago senior Kristen Heckert have been named Horizon League Cross Country Athletes of the Week for the period of Sept. 14-20.

Mullett, a native of Brighton, U.K., finished first out of 170 competitors with an 8K time of 24:44.6 on Friday at the Indiana Intercollegiate in Terre Haute, Ind.

Heckert, a native of Sugar Grove, Ill., placed first out of 306 runners with a 5K time of 17:37.0 on Friday at the Illinois Intercollegiate in Normal, Ill.

The Bulldogs finished fourth in a 21-team men's field with 119 points, while the Flames placed fifth in a 31-team women's field with 171 points.

Both squads are idle until Oct. 2 when they travel to the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind.
