INDIANAPOLIS -- University of Detroit Mercy senior Brigid Mulroy has been named Horizon League Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the period of Nov. 9-15. The selection marks Mulroy's first career weekly honor from the League office.

Mulroy, a guard from West Bloomfield, Mich., averaged 20.5 points in two non-conference games last week. She made 13-of-19 (.684) from the floor, 7-of-10 (.700) from three-point range and 8-of-9 (.889) from the free-throw stripe.

Mulroy scored 14 points on Friday in a season-opening 74-65 win over Oakland University. She then poured in a career-best 27 on Sunday in a 71-62 setback to 10th-ranked Michigan State University.

Detroit, 1-1 overall, returns to action on Saturday when it travels to the University of Cincinnati for a 2 p.m. ET contest.

Mulroy will become eligible for the Horizon League Network's "People's Choice" award, which is announced each Thursday afternoon. Log on to www.HorizonLeagueNetwork.tv to vote.
