EUGENE, Ore. -- Youngstown State alumnus Conner Neu and Detroit alumnus Colin Cashner both competed in the hammer throw at the 2016 United States Olympic Track and Field Trials at Hayward Field.

In the preliminary round, Cashner fouled three times and was eliminated from the competition.

Neu, the Horizon League record-holder in the hammer, opened his round with a toss of 68.43 meters (224-6"), but his next two tosses were short of the mark, leaving him in 11th overall.
