Men’s Basketball Scoreboard (Nov. 12)
No. 24/24 UCLA 91, Oakland 60

Continuing its opening-season gauntlet, Oakland was undone by turnovers and foul trouble in the first half, leading to a 91-60 loss at No. 24/24 UCLA on Tuesday evening at Pauley Pavilion.

Oakland (0-2) was within 17-15 of UCLA after a Tommie McCune layup 6:17 into the game. However, the Bruins responded with an 8-0 burst to open a double-digit lead, 25-15.

Once the Golden Grizzlies got Travis Bader going with his second 3-pointer of the game to close within 29-20 and seemingly build some momentum, he promptly picked up his third foul of the half with 2:36 left in the frame. Leading 33-20 at the time, UCLA outscored Oakland, 11-4 the rest of the way to take a 20-point lead into the break.

Oakland would close within 20 once in the second half, on a Bader jumper with 16:05 to play. But UCLA would respond with a 3-pointer by Jordan Adams and the Golden Grizzlies would not close any closer than 20 points the rest of the night.

Bader finished with 19 points on 6-of-14 shooting, including five 3-pointers. The marksman is now up to 366 in his career, ranking 23rd on the career 3-pointer list.
