Cassie Pelloni tallied 13 kills, while Ciara Schultz totaled 35 assists, six digs and five kills as the Oakland women's volleyball team defeated Milwaukee in three sets on the road Tuesday night. The Golden Grizzlies improve to 7-2 in league play and have not dropped a set in four-straight matches.

Sammi Herron had 10 kills to lead the way for Milwaukee.

It was back-and-forth in set number one. Both teams came out strong and neither could pull away, with great responses from both sides. The Panthers were the first to gain any separation at 12-10 on a kill by Maggie Dunbar and a block by Celine Jones and Nicole Latzig made it 18-14 UWM. The Golden Grizzlies came back and led 24-22, but the Panthers again did some fighting of their own, jumping back on top 25-24 after another kill by Latzig. But Milwaukee couldn't put it away from there as Oakland was able to just squeak by in extras in the opening frame.

In the final two sets of the match, Oakland used big runs to take early advantages in both sets. The Golden Grizzlies had a 7-5 lead in the second set before a 7-0 run gave Oakland a lead it would not reliniquish in winning the set, 25-12. In the final set, Oakland was up 5-3, but a 12-2 run put the Golden Grizzlies firmly in control of the match.
