INDIANAPOLIS - The Oakland men's soccer team will take on 18th-ranked Kentucky in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday, announced the NCAA on Monday. The Golden Grizzlies will make its sixth appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2000.

Oakland earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament on Saturday with a 2-1 victory over Wright State for its first-ever Horizon League Championship. The No. 18 Wildcats earned an at-large bid after finishing runner-up in Conference USA, but fell in the opening round of the C-USA Tournament. This will be the first meeting between the two teams.

This marks the first time the Golden Grizzlies have made the NCAA Tournament since 2010. Oakland is 1-4-1 all-time in NCAA Tournament games with the lone win coming in 2007 at Michigan State.

The match time will be announced at a later time.
