The Oakland men’s soccer team will face the Dayton Flyers on Thursday, Nov. 19 at 7 pm in the first round the 2015 NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Championship. The Golden Grizzlies were the only team from the state of Michigan to advance to the championship.

Oakland captured their second consecutive Horizon League title off a second half free kick goal delivered by tournament MVP Matt Dudley propelling the No. 2 Golden Grizzlies to a 1-0 victory over No. 6 Wight State on Saturday (Nov 14) in Chicago, Ill.

Dayton earned an automatic bid defeating VCU, 4-1, in the Atlantic 10 championship. The Golden Grizzlies defeated Dayton, 2-0, on the road earlier this season (Sept. 12) on goals from Austin Ricci and Matt Rickard. Oakland is 2-5-1 all-time in NCAA Tournament games. The winner of the match will face No. 9 seed Ohio State on Sunday, Nov. 22.
