UIC got 16 points, six rebounds and six assists from freshman Tarkus Ferguson in its win over Detroit Mercy.

VALPARAISO, Ind. (AP) -- Martez Walker scored 25 points and Oakland never trailed in a 78-66 victory over Valparaiso on Friday night. Walker was 8 of 14 from the floor and made four 3-pointers. Stevie Clark had 16 points and five assists for Oakland (13-3, 3-0 Horizon League). Jalen Hayes added 12 points.

at UIC 78, Detroit Mercy 64*
CHICAGO (AP) -- Tarkus Ferguson had 16 points, six rebounds and six assists Friday night and UIC notched its first Horizon League win, beating Detroit 78-64.
The Flames (8-7, 1-1) recovered from a slow start -- falling behind 9-2 -- and mostly cruised after building a 40-25 lead at the break. The Titans (2-13, 0-3) had a 9-2 run to cut their deficit to 71-61 but got no closer.

at Green Bay 80, Milwaukee 74*
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- Kerem Kanter scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Green Bay beat Milwaukee 80-74 on Friday night for its fifth straight win. Green Bay used a 25-5 run, including a 19-0 spurt, and led 66-49 with about six minutes to go. Charles Cooper scored eight points, and Jamar Hurdle and Tevin Findlay added six points apiece while Milwaukee missed nine field goals and three free throws during the stretch. The Phoenix had a 10-point lead with 36 seconds left.
