INDIANAPOLIS – Oakland sophomore Aaron Davis (Detroit, Mich.) and UIC sophomore Brittany Schwarz (Dixon, Ill.) have been named Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Runners of the Week while Milwaukee senior Alex Chollet (Aurora, Ill.) and fellow Panther senior Sherice Hewett (Milwaukee, Wis.) have been named Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Athletes of the Week for the period of Feb. 17-23.
Davis secured runner of the week honors after capturing his fifth consecutive victory in the 60-meter dash at the Hillsdale Tune-Up. His time of 6.92 seconds is tied for best in the league with teammate Nicholas Girodat. Davis is one of just five sprinters in the league to break the 7.00 mark this season.
Schwarz best a field of 19 runners in the one-mile at the Panther Tune-Up. Her time of 5:07.49, adjusted to 5:04.48, is good for fifth best in the league this season.
Chollet posted two victories, a school record and two personal-bests at the Panther Tune-Up. In the weight throw his mark of 18.83 meters broke his own school record. He also posted a mark of 16.07 meters in the shot put. Chollet has the fourth best distance in the league this season in both events.
Hewett had an all-around performance at the Panther Tune-Up. She registered the best triple jump distance in the league this season at 12.42 meters. The mark is second best in school history and 64th in the country this season. Hewett placed fourth with a long jump of 5.26 meters and first with a 60-meter hurdles time of 8.98 seconds.

Matthew Jordan, Oakland (Fr., Woodhaven, Mich.) – Finished third in the triple jump (12.85 meters) and fourth in the long jump (6.09 meters) at the Hillsdale Tune-Up.
Arnaldo Morales, Youngstown State (So., Brook Park, Ohio) – Was the only jumper to eclipse the 2.00 meter mark at the Akron Zips Invitational with his jump of 2.04 meters.
Luke Taccola, UIC (Fr., Oak Forest, Ill.) – Placed third in the shot put with a distance of 13.66 meters at the Panther Tune-Up.
Jacob Smutz, Valparaiso (Jr., West Lafayette, Ind.) – Captured the weight throw title at the Orange and Blue Open with a throw of 18.05 meters.
Ann Chapman, Valparaiso (Jr., Washington, Ill.) – Registered marks of 4.80 meters and 10.22 meters in the long jump and triple jump, respectively, at the Orange and Blue Open.
Michelle Laygo, UIC (Fr., Roselle, Ill.) / LaTressha Washington, UIC (Jr., South Holland, Ill.) – The UIC duo tied for first-place in the pole vault at the Margaret Bradley Invitational, clearing 3.35 meters.
Kaley Moss, Wright State (Jr., Urbana, Ohio) – Finished fifth in the pole vault with a mark of 3.45 meters at the Buckeye Tune-Up.
Megan Simientowski, Oakland (So., Milford, Mich.) – Finished second in the pole vault with a 2.92 meter vault at the Hillsdale Tune-Up.

Anthony Franze, Valparaiso (So., Gunter, Texas) – Ran a season best 60-meter dash time of 7.18 seconds at the Orange and Blue Open. Also finished third in the 200-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 22.69 seconds.
Emmanuel Gamez, UIC (Jr., Crystal Lake, Ill.) – Best a field of 19 at the Panther Tune-Up in the 400-meter run with a time of 51.44 seconds.
Marquis Johnson, Milwaukee (Jr., Lac du Flambeau, Wis.) – At the Panther Tune-Up, topped a field of 36 in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.08 seconds, adjusted to 21.70 seconds. Johnson also placed seventh in the 60-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 7.06 seconds.
Ryan Leahy, Detroit (So., St. Joseph, Mich.) – Captured the 5,000 meter run in his indoor debut with a time of 15:14.60.
Austin McLean, Youngstown State (Jr., West Jefferson, Ohio) – Posted the second fastest mile in school history at the Alex Wilson Invitational, crossing the finish line in 4:08.59.
Brittany Bailey, Wright State (Jr., Botkins, Ohio) – Finished first out of 10 runners in the 1,000 meter run at the Buckeye Tune Up with a time of 3:01.12.
Nina Grambling, Youngstown State (Jr., Canton, Ohio) – Placed first in the 60-meter dash (7.50 seconds) at the Akron Zips Invitational. Grambling also placed second in the long jump.
Alani Letang, Detroit (Jr., Ann Arbor, Mich.) – Topped a field of 20 runners in the 400-meter dash with a time of 58:07 at the Grand Valley State Tune-Up.
Candice Mack, Oakland (Jr., Rochester, Mich.) – Set a 400-meter dash personal best with a time of 58.09 seconds to finish second at the Hillsdale Tune-Up.
Anuli Okonkwo, Milwaukee (Jr., Maple Grove, Minn.) – Posted a personal best 7.89 seconds in the 60-meter dash to win the event at the Panther Tune-Up.
Kelli Wosick, Valparaiso (Sr., Mount Prospect, Ill.) – Crossed the finish line in a season best 1:00.12 in the 400-meter dash at the Orange and Blue Open.
