INDIANAPOLIS -- Oakland junior Robby Enslen and Wright State junior Travis Hissong  have been named Horizon League Baseball Players of the Week for the period of Feb. 17-23.

Enslen picked up Batter of the Week accolades after leading the Golden Grizzlies in hitting in their four-game series at 18th-ranked Oklahoma State. He hit .467 (7-of-15) in the series, with a slugging percentage of .667 and reached base at a .529 clip. He drove in a run and scored another in Oakland’s 10-7 win over the Cowboys on Saturday. In the first game of the doubleheader on Saturday, the junior outfielder became the first Oakland player of the season to hit a home run.
Enslen finished the series with seven hits, four runs scored and three RBIs.

Oakland (1-3) returns to the road this weekend when it plays a four-game series at New Mexico State.

Hissong notched Pitcher of the Week honors after pitching 7.0 innings to pick up the win in Wright State’s 3-1 win over UC Irvine. The junior righthander went seven full innings in the outing, striking out five and allowing just three hits. He held the Anteaters’ batters to a combined batting average of .115 as UC Irvine scored just one run.

Wright State (2-5) has a midweek game on Tuesday at Kentucky, before heading across the country to Corvallis, Oregon to play a four-game series against top-10 foe Oregon State.

Other Horizon League top performers (Feb. 17-23):
Gunnar Eastman, Milwaukee
(Jr., RHP) - Eastman scattered eight hits to earn the win over St. Bonaventure. He struck out a pair and walked just one batter.
Alex Frey, Youngstown State (Sr., LHP) – Frey pitched 2.1 innings of scoreless relief in the opening weekend for YSU. The senior southpaw did not allow a hit and struck out a batter on Saturday, and he struck out two batters in an inning on Sunday.
Brent Gillespie, Youngstown State (Jr., SS) – Gillespie batted .250 with a run scored in his first three games as Penguin. The JUCO transfer went 2-for-4 with a double in his debut at UAB on Friday, and he singled in scored on Sunday.
Drew Hasler, Valparaiso (So., RHP) - Hasler earned his second career victory Saturday versus Jacksonville State. He went 7.0 innings, allowing just one earned run while giving up seven hits and striking out two batters. At one point he retired 11 of 12 Gamecock batters.
Sam Koenig, Milwaukee (Sr., 3B) - Koenig helped lead UWM to a 2-2 trip to the Snowbird Classic with a .412 batting average at the plate. He tied his career-best for hits with a 4-for-4, two-run outing in UWM’s win over St. Bonaventure on Sunday.
Karch Kowalczyk, Valparaiso (Sr., DH) - Kowalczyk recorded a career-high five RBIs in Valpo’s 10-3 win over Jacksonville State and now leads the Horizon League with eight RBIs on the season.
Jacob McNamara, UIC (Sr., DH) - McNamara hit .429 in UIC’s three-game series at ninth-ranked Vanderbilt.
Jake Paulson, Oakland (Jr., RHP) - Paulson went 6.1 innings to pick up the win over 18th-ranked Oklahoma State. He allowed just five hits and two earned runs in the contest, while striking out eight Cowboy batters.
Michael Timm, Wright State (Jr., IF) - Timm hit .444 in WSU’s three games in California. he was 3-for-3 with two walks, an RBI and a run scored in the Raiders’ 3-1 win over UC Irvine. He went 1-for-3 with a run scored and a stolen base at Long Beach State and had an RBI in the game versus Arizona State.
