INDIANAPOLIS – The Oakland freshman duo of Bryce Stroede (Horton, Mich.) and Sammy Mondry (Grand Rapids, Mich.) have been named Horizon League Indoor Track Runners of the Week for the week of Jan. 7-13.

Stroede took first-place out of 16 competitors in the 3K at the Eastern Michigan Triangular. The freshman’s winning time of 8:34.15 ranks as the league’s fastest 3K time in 2013-14.

Like Stroede, Mondry placed first among 16 competitors with a 3K time of 10:31.90. On the season, Mondry’s time ranks first on the team and third in the league.

Oakland is in action next on Jan. 17 at the Jack Skoog Open.

Other Top Runners of the Week:
Charles Anthony, Detroit (Sr., Northville, Mich.) - Finished in the top five in two events at the Eastern Michigan Triangular. Registered times of 7.05 in the 60m to place fifth and 22.51 in the 200m to place third.
Kevin Adamik, Valparaiso (Jr., Elmhurst, Ill.) -  Completed the 400m hurdles at the Hillside Winter Opener in 1:01.12, good for second-place.
Martin Hunter, UIC (So., Wilmette, Ill.) - In the 60m dash at the Bob Eubanks Open, Hunter sprinted to a sixth-place finish, registering a time of 7.21.
Shannon Marchant, Detroit (Sr., London, Ont., Canada) - Placed second in the 400m at the Eastern Michigan Triangular, turning in a time of 58.88 which marked a personal-best time and ranks eighth all-time in Titans history. 
Rebecca Zaiter, UIC (Jr., Elmhurst, Ill.) - At the Bob Eubanks Open, Zaiter turned in a time of 2:16.38 in the 800m, good for first place.
