INDIANAPOLIS - Cleveland State freshman Joanna Olsson has been named the Horizon League Women’s Swimmer of the Week, while Youngstown State University freshman Casey Hill has earned Women’s Diver-of-the-Week honors for the period of Nov. 16-22.
Olsson set four Cleveland State individual records and took part on two record-setting relays at the TYR Northwestern Invitational this past weekend. Her third-place finishes clocked in at 2:03.35 and 4:54.39 in the 200-yard butterfly and 500 freestyle, respectively. Her mark of 2:05.31 in the 200 individual medley broke the school record for the fourth time this season and set a new CSU standard in the 400 individual medley, touching the wall at 4:22.99. The Stockholm, Sweden, native, also helped record program-best marks in the 400 free (3:31.24) and 400 medley (3:54.34) relays.
The freshman claims her first career Horizon League Swimmer of the Week accolade.
Hill notched two first-place finishes this past weekend at the Radford Invitational where the Penguins finished third among seven teams. The Bethleham, Pa. native, registered the school’s fifth all-time best performance off the one-meter board with a score of 250.90. She also posted a score of 233.18 from the three-meter board, extending her event-win streak to eight this season.
Hill is honored with her first career weekly diving laurel.
