University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee juniors Tyler Bucholz and Quinn Mongoven have been named Horizon League Men's Track & Field Athletes of the Week, while Milwaukee senior Holly Nearman and Milwaukee junior Reigna Pierce have earned women's accolades for the period of March 30-April 5.
Bucholz, a native of Crystal, Minn., receives the Men's Running Events honor after qualifying for NCAA Regionals in the 200 meter (21.31) at the Florida Relays in Gainesville, Fla. He also ran a leg of Milwaukee's 4x100 (41.85) and 4x400 relays (3:12.76) at the prestigious event.
Mongoven, a native of Twin Lakes, Wis., picks up the Men's Field Events award after matching a school standard in the high jump (2.10 meters) at the Florida Relays. Mongoven, who was named Horizon League Field Athlete of the Week on April 1, becomes the season's first back-to-back winner.
Nearman, a native of Monroe, Wis., receives the Women's Running Events honor after running to a 1,500-meter victory (4:37.64) at the Florida Relays.
Pierce, a native of Racine, Wis., picks up the Women's Field Events award after registering the Horizon League's best effort this season in the triple jump (11.74 meters) at the Florida Relays.
The accomplishments mark the second time this school year that Milwaukee has swept all four awards (Feb. 25).
UWM returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn.
