Horizon League Track & Field Athletes of the Week (Week 4)

Butler University junior Kris Gauson and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee junior Quinn Mongoven have been named Horizon League Men's Track & Field Athletes of the Week, while Milwaukee senior Holly Nearman and Youngstown State University sophomore Danielle Curry have earned women's accolades for the period of April 13-19.

Gauson, a native of Edinburgh, Scotland, receives the Men's Running Events honor after posting a 3:42.13 in the 1,500 meter at the Mt. Sac Relays in Walnut, Calif. The NCAA Regional qualifying time, which set a school record, ranks first in the Horizon League this season and fourth nationally.

Mongoven, a native of Twin Lakes, Wis., picks up the Men's Field Events award after reaching 2.10 meters in the high jump at the Rankin Invitational in West Lafayette, Ind. The NCAA Regional qualifying mark, which tied a school standard, ranks first in the Horizon League this season and ties for 28th nationally.

Nearman, a native of Monroe, Wis., receives the Women's Running Events honor after registering a 16:36.61 in the 5,000 meter at the Mt. Sac Relays. The NCAA Regional qualifying time, which established a school record, ranks first in the Horizon League this season and 32nd nationally.

Curry, a native of Thornville, Ohio, picks up the Women's Field Events award after turning in a 14.17-meter toss in the shot put at the Sparks Adams Invitational in Berea, Ohio. The mark, which established a school standard and took first place at the event, ranks first in the Horizon League this season. Curry also placed third in the hammer throw (45.89m) and fourth in the discus (39.56m).

Mongoven and Nearman are up to three weekly awards apiece during the outdoor season, while Gauson and Curry are both first-time honorees.
