INDIANAPOLIS – Youngstown State sophomore’s Ciara Jarrett (Milwaukee, Wis.) and Bobby Grace (Middleburg Heights, Ohio) each earned Women’s and Men’s Horizon League Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors, while Detroit senior Lesley Hanna (Exuma, Bahamas) earned Men’s Track Athlete of the Week and Milwaukee sophomore Samia Taylor (Madison, Wis.) received Women’s Field Athlete of the Week accolades.

Jarrett won the 200 meter at the Northeast Ohio Quad on Saturday with a time of 25.49. She was also a member of the winning 4 x 100 meter relay team (48.06) and took second-place in the 100 meter. Both the 100 and 200 times currently rank second in the League.

Grace competed in the shot put, discus and hammer throws at the Northeast Ohio Quad on Satruday. He is currently ranked in the top three in all events in the League with a shot put throw of 15.72 meters, 45.35 meter discus throw and hammer throw of 50.36 meters.

Taylor won the triple jump event at the Big Blue Invitational last weekend, recording a jump of 12.32 meters.  She also competed in the long jump (5.54 meters), taking fourth-place and was a member of the 4 x 100 meter relay team that finished fourth in a time of 49.17.

Hanna won the 400 meter race out of 60 competitors, finishing in a time of 48.48. He was also a member of the winning 4 x 200 relay team, finishing in a time of 1:27.28, sixth-place 4 x 100 relay team (42.49) and seventh-place 4 x 400 relay team (3:17.85).

Detroit is back in action in a dual meet against Oakland on April 9 and Youngstown State will compete in the Duke Invitational April 8-9. Milwaukee also returns to action next weekend when it hosts the Lee Calhoun Invitational.
