Horizon League Male Athlete of the Week
Andrew Sherman, Butler, Senior, Swindon, England
Sherman broke the Butler 1500-meter record with a time of 3:44.05 at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational in California. He finished seventh in the race, while topping the previous Butler record of 3:44.55 set by Rob Krar in 2000. Sherman topped the NCAA Regional Qualifying standard with his performance.

Horizon League Female Co-Athletes of the Week
JoannaVictoria Mitchell, Butler, Senior, Mansfield, Victoria, Australia
Mitchell ran the fastest collegiate time in the world this year, while placing fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Mt. Sac Relays in California. She finished the race in 10:05.29, breaking the previous Butler record of 10:13.31 that she set a year ago. Mitchell topped the NCAA Regional Qualifying mark with her effort.

Joanna Grandas, Detroit, Senior, Dearborn, Mich.
Grandas qualified for the NCAA Regional with her mark this weekend at the Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell. She won the triple jump by her own school record with a leap of 12.30 meters (40'4.25") bettering her old mark by almost two feet. She also placed second in the long jump with a leap of 5.63 meters (18'5.75").

Other Top Male Performes
Tom Grant, Detroit, Junior, Farmington Hills, Mich.
Grant captured another title over the weekend as he won the 110-meter hurdle crown at the Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell in a non-team scoring event.

Trent Thompson, UIC, Sophomore, Naperville, Ill.
Thompson picked up a pair of first-place finishes in both the 200-meter dash (22.33) and 400-meter dash (48.82) to help the Flames to a fourth-place finish at the Wheaton Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Gabe Wagoner, UW-Milwaukee, Junior, Peshtigo, Wis.
Wagoner set a school record with the 4x800-meter relay at the Sea Ray Relays last weekend, while also competing in the 800-meter. Against some of the top teams in the nation, he helped the 4x800-meter relay team to a time of 7:26.81 and a fourth place finish. That time broke the school record for the second-straight week, this time by 2.33 second, while likely ranks among the top 10 nationally. In the 800-meter, Wagoner finished 18th with a time of 1:51.89.

Nick Buzek, Youngstown State, Junior, Akron, Ohio
Buzek ran a personal-best time of 14:51.20 in the 5,000-meter to place fourth at the Sea Ray Relays. His time also ranks him fifth in school history in the event.

Other Top Female Performes
Jessica Fouche, UIC, Junior, Chicago, Ill.
Fouche raced to a pair of first-place marks in both the 200-meter dash (24.56) and 400-meter dash (55.16) to propel the women's track and field team to a fourth-place finish at the Wheaton Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Griffin McNulty, UW-Milwaukee, Junior, Johnsburg, Wis.
McNulty led the Panthers at last weekend's Pacesetter Invitational by winning the 800-meter. She completed the event with a personal record of 2:13.48. That time is the third-best time in school history and currently leads the League.

Christina Hill, Wright State, Freshman, Fairborn, Ohio
Hill had the top Raider finish at the All-Ohio Championships with a seventh place in the 5000-meter run in a time of 18:50.02

Bethany Anderson, Youngstown State, Freshman, Jamestown, N.Y.
Anderson broke two school records in an outstanding week at the Sea Ray Relays. In the hammer, the freshman placed third with a school-record mark of 159 feet, 9 inches to top the old record by 7.5 feet. She then broke the 14-year-old shot put record with an eighth-place throw of 45'8".
