INDIANAPOLIS -- Wright State seniors Casey McGrew and Alex Kaminsky have been named Horizon League Baseball Players of the Week for the period of April 19-25.
McGrew hit .542 (13-for-24) for the week, helping the Raiders to a three-game series sweep over Valparaiso and a win over UIC. The leftfielder tallied eight runs and three RBI while connecting on two doubles and a triple. McGrew is currently riding an 18-game hitting streak and owns a .462 batting average during that span.
Kaminsky chalked up a complete game win over then-league-leading Valparaiso last week, downing the Crusaders 11-1. The right hander gave up just one run and five hits through nine innings of work while striking out five. The Fostoria, Ohio, native, holds both complete games for Wright State this season.
The Raiders currently sit atop the Horizon League standings at 9-4, 19-16 overall. WSU travels to Toledo on Wednesday for a 3:00 p.m. ET contest before journeying to Youngstown State for a weekend series beginning Friday.
