Matching the best start in the program's history, the Milwaukee women's soccer team has climbed to No. 14 in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) poll. For the first time, the Panthers have also been put on top of the Great Lakes Region, earning the No. 1 ranking from the NSCAA.

6-0 after downing both Iowa State and regionally ranked Minnesota over the weekend, Milwaukee has turned its attention to a nationally-televised match on Wednesday against city rival Marquette. In the first NSCAA College Game of the Week, Fox Soccer Channel will carry the 14th-ranked Panthers and No. 12 Golden Eagles from Engelmann Stadium at 8 p.m. ET.

The Panthers are garnering attention across the country, rising to No. 14 in the latest Soccer America poll. In each of the first three weeks of the season, a Milwaukee player has earned recognition on the TopDrawerSoccer.com national team of the week. Goalkeeper Jamie Forbes joined forward Sarah Hagen, a two-time selection, as national team honorees following a two shutout effort last week.

Head coach Michael Moynihan told the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, "I can't say I expected to be (unbeaten), but I honestly believe we can beat anybody we play."

Having senior Sarah Hagen has helped; the all-time leading scorer in Horizon League history after just three years has added seven goals to her record in the season's first six matches, as Marquette's coaching staff conceded that the 2010 Hermann Trophy semifinalist should have a shot at playing for the U.S. National Team in the coming future. Hagen has been invited to the team's training camp in October.
