KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Wright State defender Lauren Patterson (Colorado Springs, Colo./Cheyenne Mountain), Milwaukee midfielder Helen Steinhauser (Ann Arbor, Mich./Huron) and Detroit forward Kaitlyn Quarrell (Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada/St. Ignatius) all were voted to the All-Great Lakes Region Teams by the members of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Patterson was voted onto the First Team, while Steinhauser and Quarrell each earned Third Team recognition.

A native of Colorado Springs, Colo., Patterson is the first WSU women's soccer player ever to receive such an honor. The senior earned Horizon League Defensive Player of the Year accolades, leading a Raider defense that allowed just 13 goals for the regular season in posting a 0.70 goals against average.

A First Team All-League selection as well as part of the All-Tournament Team in 2010 and 2012, Patterson also contributed offensively this season with goals at Colorado and Youngstown State.

Steinhauser was voted the 2012 Horizon League Player of the Year, leading Milwaukee to its fifth consecutive Horizon League Tournament title and 13th consecutive share of the regular-season crown.

Steinhauser started all 18 games for the Panthers, scoring four goals to go with one assist in the UWM midfield. Two of her goals came as back-to-back game-winners at Valparaiso and against Loyola Oct. 3-10. A captain, she has played all but 34 minutes this season and has also brought key leadership to a young lineup.

Quarrell earned Horizon League Offensive Player of the Year honors after a four-goal, three-assists effort in her junior year. A First Team All-League selection each of the last two years, Quarrell helped lead a Detroit attack that was third in the Horizon League in goals scored on the year.
