INDIANAPOLIS -- University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee junior Tim Patzman and Cleveland State University sophomore Anthony Sambula have been named Horizon League Baseball Players of the Week for the period of May 11-17.

A native of Waukesha, Wis., Patzman picks up Batter of the Week accolades after going 11-for-15 (.733) with one homer, three RBI, four doubles and six runs in four games last week. He also registered a 1.200 slugging percentage and .778 on-base percentage for the Panthers.

The outfielder recorded at least one base knock in all four contest and registered three multi-hit efforts. He turned in a career-best effort on Tuesday, going 5-for-5 with two doubles and a pair of runs against Northern Illinois University.

Patzman ranks among Horizon League leaders in slugging (1st, .685), home runs (T-2nd, 11), batting average (3rd, .382), total bases (3rd, 122), on-base (4th, .453), hits (4th, 68), doubles (T-4th, 17), RBI (6th, 41) and runs (T-7th, 37).

A native of South Russell, Ohio, Sambula notches Pitcher of the Week honors after turning in his third quality start of the year on Friday at Wright State University.

The left-hander was pinned with the loss in that outing despite not allowing an earned run in eight innings for the Vikings (8.0 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 3 SO).

Sambula owns a 3-3 record and 5.98 ERA in 16 appearances this season.

Milwaukee improved to 26-25 overall and 14-9 in League play with a 4-0 week. The Panthers secured a No. 2 seed in the upcoming conference tournament with a win over Northern Illinois on Tuesday and three-game sweep of Butler University over the weekend.

Cleveland State improved to 20-29 and 12-13 in League action with a 2-1 week. The Vikings, who enter the conference tournament as the No. 5 seed, dropped their series opener on Friday at Wright State but took both ends of a doubleheader from the Raiders on Saturday.
